Thor's Helmet Nebula - NGC 2359.

 

Distance to Earth about 12,000 light-years.

Diameter is about 30 light-years.

The central star of Thor’s Helmet is believed to be about 280,000 times brighter than our Sun, 16 times more massive and around 1.5 times larger. It has a surface temperature of 112,000 K and is about 20 million years old!

 

Imaging telescope: Explore Scientific 127mm ED TRIPLET APO.

Imaging cameras: ZWO ASI1600MM Pro-Cool.

Mount: iOptron CEM60.

Guiding camera: ZWO ASI290MM mini.

Focal reducer: Explore Scientific 0.7 Reducer/Flattener.

Software: PixInsight 1.8.8 Ripley, Adobe Photoshop 2020.

Filters:

30X300 sec Ha 12nm, gain 139.

30X300 sec OIII 12nm, gain 139.

Accessory: ZWO EAF Electronic Auto Focuser, ZWO OAG, ZWO 8x 1.25" Filter Wheel (EFW).
