Wheelers Oyster Bar
We ate in Wheelers Oyster Bar.
Clare had lightly spiced caramalized scallops with slow cooked pork belly, roast fennel, parsnip puree, and apple jelly to start. I had half a dozen Whitstable natives.
For the main, Clare had dover sole fillets pan fried with local clam chowder, cabbage and bacon, cauliflower puree, and cauliflower beignets. I had pan fried monkfish with tiger prawn and mussel laksa, finished with bok choi and hand pickled crab.
A delicious meal, and a lucky last minute booking! They only have sixteen covers in the small, atmospheric back room, and there's such a demand that they were fully booked for a three-o'clock sitting as we were leaving.
