the sound of music
Renovations to the exterior and first floor of this 1970's era neo-colonial were undertaken to create spaces that would accommodate the family's living patterns, respond to the site and replace older and failing systems and appliances. The work involved two small additions totaling about 150 square feet. One addition is for a laundry / sewing room and one addition is for the relocated family room. Now, every space of the home is used for group activities, for individual activities, for large dinner parties, for small casual meals and everything in between. The homeowner, a tech person, wired the home for whole house audio / visual as well as sophisticated controls monitoring.
