The Versace Mansion

The former Amsterdam Apartments.

This building was constructed in the 1930’s (Casa Caserina) using plans originally made by the son of Christopher Columbus.

This building was bought by fashion designer Gianni Versace in the late ‘80 (along with a hotel property to the south- later torn down) and converted into his personal residence. In 1992 he was murdered on the front steps. This tragedy has converted his once home into the most photographed location on Miami Beach.

People love the macabre.
