Wow, that's a great Star Wars costume! What year are these from?

he was born in 1978, so i make this to be 1986. as you can tell by the rest of the set, he was daffy for star wars. he wore that "flight suit" until he was 10, when it was about 4" too short in the legs and arms. he finally tore it beyond repair about that time.

you got some pretty nifty stuff, there! i'll be browsing!

Thanks! Yeah, you probably noticed all the invites by Glen for the Growing Up Star Wars group. For the ones that are 1985 and before they would be great additions in the group!

i'm no good at doing sums in my head. my husband pointed out dash is only 1 in the cookie monster suit, not 2 (born in late november), and i had the "luke" and "jawa" reversed (based on dash's height)--so technically the pix of lord vader, ewok, luke AND the jawa were all 1985 or pre-1985. he was, of course, in on the costume fitting, but i never told him about the x-wing. i'd work on it during the day while he was in pre-school and hide it in the attic. when he came home from pre-school on halloween day and i presented it to him, he got a kinda glazed, bemused look on his face that didn't go away until he started flying it around the empty lot next door. needless to say, he still talks about it.

we always had such fun doing this stuff . . . i dressed up a few times, too. a kabuki character and an ibo tribal dance society member.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Growing Up Star Wars: 1977-1985, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Great that this photo is from '85 and will squeak in the group. You really have a great talent for costume making. Thanks!

This is awesome!!! I know that any kid in our family would've loved to have this costume. Lucky kid!

I think that my mom made my brother an x-wing piñata for his birthday once, but he couldn't wear it like this! : )
