City of Fridges
Modern art what a thing of wonder, or a total and utter waste of time? you decide.
This gigantic beast of an art piece in the Baltic Newcastle was what you can call large scale.
Many large fridges covered from head to toe in little tiny mirrors by the artist (or his slaves), then piled up on top of each other in a very large room. Very hard to photograph as the levels of light were very low indeed, I had to place the camera on the floor to get the shots of it.
This image does not show the sheer scale of the thing, as this is just a dark corner where I could photopgraph in peace. It was large, dark, and full of little mirrors reflecting everything around them, interesing stuff. But is it art? and is it worth the forutune in cash it probibly cost?
Stick a mirrorball in the room and let it go, and it could well be.
