It never ceases to amaze me how people evidently so adept in using the latest technology and social media chose to employ photography techniques which were designed, desired and richly rewarded in the middle of 1800's. For the lack of better term I call this style "social realism". It presumes (in my opinion presumes falsely) that all people are born equal i.e. we all see the world through the same eyes. Therefore, we should record it also the same way.
Excellent way to stamp out individualism and harness all "creative" energies in the name of "common good".
No wonder the first big sponsor of photography was British Admiralty.
The budding naval officers were taught how to click camera instead of trying to learn the art of precise and fast sketching.
No room for error.
No room for any alternate, and god-forbid dissenting and confusing way to look at the world through individual eyes.
