Filming of Mindhunter Season 2: News reporters in 1970s
In the final morning of my Pittsburgh visit, I came across the filming of Netflix series Mindhuter Season 2 outside of the Pittsburgh City-County Building. I first noticed a bunch of men and women carrying old film and TV cameras in vintage 1970s clothes. "How odd!" I thought. It took me a few moments to realize that they are actors and actresses portraying media reporters.
Before seeing this, I had not followed MIndhunter the TV series, but I'm now slowly catching up Season 1.
Some of these actors, scenes and vehicles appeared in the final episode 9 of Season 2 (S2 E9).
Mindhunter is an American crime drama web television series created by Joe Penhall, based on the true crime book "Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit" written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The series centers/ centres on the early days of criminal psychology and criminal profiling at the Federal Bureau of Investigation on serial killers and serial violent crimes. As can be expected, some scenes are disturbing, but the series is more about the development of criminal psychology investigation in the late 1970s/ early 1980s rather than on the sickening bloody crime scenes.
