You Are What You Eat
Day 332 of 365 (Year Two)
And boy did I eat enough of it!
As if everyone didn't know, today is/was Thanksgiving. Of all of the holidays that we (my family and friends) celebrate, Thanksgiving is a personal favorite. Growing up it was the one holiday that, more so than any other, brought the family together to celebrate.
When I was younger it meant a trip to Philly to be with my grandparents and the extended family. Several tables laid end to end taking up both the dining room and the den with the entire family seated around them. After my grandparents passed it was turkey dinners with two other families that were as close to us as any family and now that I've got a family of my own we switch years between both sets of Savanah's grandparents.
Then of course there is the food. Fortunately for me, my dad loves turkey as much as I do and we generally have a thanksgiving type feast several times a year, but as special and yummy as those are they just aren't as special as Thanksgiving dinner.
I'm also glad to see my daughter taking after me and showing the same appreciation for cranberries in the shape of the can that I do.
