The "stuff" of Dressing / This is Today 101
I refuse to call it "stuffing," because we don't stuff it IN anything. But yeah, this is all there is. Basic savory cornbread (as opposed to carnival corn-dog sweet, the way we'd make it if we were just going to eat it--plus it would be in a cast-iron skillet), crumbled, soft white bread crumbs (I use dinner rolls because they have more crust, more body), chopped onions and celery, chicken stock, sage, black pepper, eggs. Bada bing, baba boom. Southern Living recipe, I believe. Alex's choice.
Oh, and just to suck any hint of nutritional value out of those veggies, they're sauteed in a STICK of butter. You heard me. What? It's once a year.
