Newspaper Carrier

Vintage Italian newspaper carrier, for reading whilst cycling

I suspect its more likely to be a map carrier. Definitely not a good idea to read a newspaper whilst cycling!

Nope. It's a newspaper carrier. For carrying and reading whilst cycling. Used to be standard on many bikes in Italy and you can still buy them. They're called portogionata... newspaper carrier. I spotted people using them in Ferrara.

Read more about them on my blog:

Oh, and I often read a newspaper whilst cycling in Copenhagen.

OK....I'll make sure there are no bikes visible next time I cross the road in Copenhagen....

When reading the paper I hardly break 10 km hour, so there is no problem. Plus, I have brakes and I use them.

hard to see how you'd be able to read with such a small part of the paper exposed.
Maybe there's be a market for special small papers for bike riders, minibloids rather than tabloids
