Forenaghts Great Standing Stone

This standing stone is located on private land (part of the Furness estate). The day i visited this stunning site i did not know this (hence bringing my two and a half year old son with me). A quick walk through a couple of fields two cattle gates one barbed wire fence and a stone wall with a bit of a drop on the other side and you have arrived. Of the site the standing stone is over five metres high and weighs some thirteen tonnes. It is inside a circular banked enclosure with external ditch. The feeling i got from being at this site was quite unlike any other i have photographed, a very special place.

This site should be seen by many (ive read their is a three year wait to see the stone) PM me and i will have you there in ten minutes.
