The Renaissance Center

The Renaissance Centre, Detroit. Designed by John Portman and Associates and completed in 1977. Originally constructed as a 73-story hotel (at the time the world's tallest) surrounded by four 39-story office towers, surrounded by a square-shaped, all-retail podium. It was purchased by General Motors as their worlwide HQ in 1997 and refurbished.
