Happiness is not for sale
My first idea for this photo competition was uploading a picture from a dramatic scene of a violent protest. But we've seen enough of all these dark moods and heavy politics on television yet. Instead, we should be reminded to have fun and enjoy the simple things in life!
In this case, we had to photograph some motion blur for a school assignment, so the original plan was to go to the centre of Ghent and make photographs of cyclists who are passing by, but none of the images were interesting. On the way back to our campus, Francis, Lenny and I found this shopping cart left behind. Their inner child told them to ride it of course, and there I found my perfect moment to capture! An image of two friends after a long day of school, with pure joy on their faces knowing that they are doing something that is a little rebellious.
Don't set up your images, search for moments instead! Photography is all about those moments with pure emotions, whether they are good or bad!
