    Sydney Royal Easter Show
The Sydney Royal Easter Show, also known as the Royal Easter Show or simply The Show, is an annual show held in Sydney, Australia over two weeks around Easter. It is run by the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales and was first held in 1823. Queen Victoria, (1837-1901), awarded the society and its show the right to use the word "Royal" in its name. The Show is historically an event where "city meets country" and the rural industries of Australia can be shown and celebrated once a year.

The Show comprises an agricultural show, an amusement park and a fair and combines the elements of each, showcasing the judging of livestock and produce. This comprehensive fair has many competitions including arts and crafts, photography and cookery, as well as tests of strength and skill such as wood chopping. The Show also has shopping, restaurants, commercial stands and exhibits, a horticultural display, a national accredited conformation dog show and cat show, and stage and arena shows. The Show currently attracts 1 million people per year.

Thanks for your comment in TWTME. As it happens, I'm an admin for a group called Australasian Agricultural Shows, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Cool angle and the blue negative space gives it a nice impact.

Not Crazey about this picture. What would of mad it really cool is if you took it at night and the ferris wheel was light up. Or even if you put it in black and white it might look nice. but i really like the idea of a night picture. Keep trying to take great pictures.

      Ferris Wheel at Night

Hmmm, that doesn't seem like it lights up at night. That's OK, I don't think you really need to take a night shot of a ferris wheel just to make it interesting.
I like the blue sky. Clear and not overexposed. It provides a good background and complementary color to the red carts on the wheel. You have great detail in the carts and metal work as well. The perspective is done well too. Backing up like in your night shot I think would cause detail to be lost and adds distracting elements. I like that you got up close, and I like the view up to the sky.

Aspects of this shot are great - your focus is tack-sharp, and you didn't over expose anything.

While I see others like the sense of perspective, I really don't get that out of this image. The reason for this, I think, is the bright lighting, causing very little contrast.

The other thing I'm not quite sold on is the lack of a singular, clear, focal point. As you've composed it, my eye first sees the orange, as it's the only color on the page. My eyes then immediately see the white-arc, and follow that right off the page.

I think this should go the other way around, with my eye being drawn into the focal points, rather than away from them.

It's a great idea for a shot, and you did a nice job with it. Keep up the great work!

I love this as an abstract piece! It's actually nice to see a ferris wheel in a different way to the shot at night thing that's done so often. The bright red and blue contrast perfectly and I really like the silver metalwork. Well exposed, good focus interesting composition.
I actually prefer this to your night shot in the thread purely because it is so different!

if i had to rate this picture i would give it a 13/10. 10 out of ten would be for the excellent angle, colors and lighting, whilst the other extra 3 points would be for completely crushing Timmy007's comment hahahaha

      keep up the good work!

Interesting shot! I like it! However, I do agree with one of the "Life thru a Lensers" in that it would have been cool if you'd shot this at night OR taken it in B&W. Doing so might have added some drama to the shot. However, I'd like to focus on what IS in the photo rather than how it could be different. There are so many wonderful things about this shot, in my opinion. I love the interesting angle and perspective! Great color, too! There is also an abstractness to this shot that caught my eye!
