Just another F****in' Eagle shot...;-)
Check comment section for series of images.
We came around the corner and saw an adult and juvenile Eagle sitting on a perch. After a few moments they both flew off. We continued to watch them and they both turned back. The adult landed on the same perch and the Juvi looked as though he was going to land as well, but all of a sudden he changed his mind and took off. The reason he left was the male was flying in to be with his mate; of course we didn't know that was the male until the action started....;-)
With two adult Bald Eagles on the perch, it did draw a crowd. I'm sure that everyone was thinking what we were thinking; with all the coots just below them, we were thinking it may be feeding time, but nothing was happening. After about an hour or two of nothing happening all the crowd left, except Michael Libbe, Graham, Linda and me, we were the only four that witnessed the action. Sometimes it just pays to stand and wait.
Most of the time when there is an Eagle in the area of coots they go crazy, but this time the coots weren't bothered by the Eagles. Now how did those coots know that they were more interested in sex then eating one of them?
These images have a pretty big crop and the image quality is not what I would like but, hey how often do you see this?
