The Last Days Of Stewarts Lane - 18

In this poor view, the lines from Victoria and Battersea Yard are to be seen over to the right next to the brooding presence of the furniture repository, disappearing under the South London Line overbridge towards Clapham Junction. The now lifted ash pit lines were once in place alongside the concrete walkway in the centre of the picture. The lines to the left once lead to the large coaling stage and on under the South London line to the turntable, water tower and Longhedge Works. Through the larger portal of the South London Line the 'Lower Level Line' can be seen which ran from Clapham Junction and the West London Extension line via Longhedge Junction from Kensington Addison Road, Willesden, Acton etc. This ran behind the shed and joined the SECR main line at Factory Junction.
