A combination of dodgy eyesight and it only being an hour or so after sunset meant I couldn't see the comet with the naked eye but pointing my camera in the general direction revealed it, and M31 as an added bonus! I didn't have time to set up my barn door tracker as it was fairly close to the horizon so I decided to use my 35mm lens at f/1.8 and after a few tests settled on 3200 ISO and 8 second exposures which gave the best combination of detail without too much trailing.
Taken with a Nikon d5100 and Nikkor 35mm Lens, ISO 3200, f/1.8
Processed using Deep Sky Stacker with:
25 exposures @ 8 seconds each
25 dark frames @ 8 seconds each
15 bias/offset frames
10 flat frames
