Yellow Pear Tomato Porn - Sliced
It's October and the Limony Pears are still producing. It's not warm enough, and I'm not getting enough daylight for them to be at their best, but they're still going strong. I give thanks for every last one of these guys. Recently I ate a sandwich made with store bought tomatoes and it was so sad. Pretty soon I'm going to have to go back to buying my tomatoes, and I don't want to. My plan is to become incredibly rich and build a giant greenhouse with a steamy indoor pool, surrounded by cycles of year-round growing tomatoes. Surrounded by the elite of society, I would prepare tomato-based dishes in my poolside kitchen and recline in pleasure. I haven't put a lot of thought into how I'm going to accomplish my plan, but I've got my eyes on the goal.
I've been slicing up double handfuls of these guys and sauteeing them in a little olive oil with sea salt and cracked pepper, and using it on sandwiches as a relish. Sometimes I'll throw in a tiny bit of chopped garlic or onion, too. They're also my favourite tomatoes to throw into chilequiles, right at the end, so they get a little heat and the acids do their magic.
