The South Puget Sound area of the Washington State received several inches of snow during the 2021 Valentine’s Day weekend. This picture was taken early morning on the Valentine’s Day from the Capitol Lake Park in Olympia, looking south towards the State Capitol. Capitol Lake, seen in the picture, is a 260-acre artificial lake that was originally proposed as part of the State Capitol Campus design. The lake was finally created in 1951 by building a dam at the north end of the Deschutes Basin.
