1961 Cadillac Horn Button Cap 8

A 1961 Cadillac horn button cap's screws and the clips used to attach to the steering wheel. These screws were used to attach the clips to the chrome bezel. Both screws have a piece of the threading missing.

This cap with a red starburst design and the Cadillac crest in the middle would have been covered by a clear plastic bubble and surrounded in a chrome mounting. This would be placed in the middle of the steering wheel. Though called the horn button cap, it is not actually the button depressed to activate the car's horn (those buttons would be on the spokes of the steering wheel). But for branding, the center location is ideal. The red color and crest design (monochromatic with the ducks) quickly identifies it as being the 1961, as the 1960 had a black and steel color with a colored crest design, the 1962 had a black color with a colored crest, and the 1963 would return the red surrounding and the crest was a different design and was more a flat cap design than this recessed design.

In "Forever Knight," Nick's steering wheel had this recessed red starburst design with a monochromatic Cadillac crest in the center.
