It was -12 F this week. Perfect photography weather, right?
The frozen Minnehaha Falls are absolutely gorgeous. I need to go back and get some medium format film slides before it thaws out. But at least I got some excellent MF Kodak Portra shots before the SLR mirror started to stick. I don't think it affected the shutter so the photos most likely turned out okay, but I wasn't going to push things. My digital camera that my father was using had a frozen zoom lens. The digital shots turned out pretty well despite the equipment failure. It took about 5 hours for them to warm up in plastic bags to prevent condensation from forming on and inside the cameras. I'll post the film scans when I get them developed.
But this wolf is built for cold (unlike the cameras, lol), and no temperature was going to prevent me from seeing this beautiful sight. The colder it gets, the better the espresso tastes afterwards.
