Eastman Double X 3

Newer Older

Tested the Eastman double X. First time working with bulk film.
Got to hear about it from Les (Time Share). Ordered it right away and got to pick it up the same day... even though there was a snowstorm... it was good to see yah, Les! Thanks for the heads up...!!!

Wasted the first 3 ft, as the iMac screen came alive on accidentally touching the mouse. Necessary to switch off all light sources.. duh!

The film is a tad slippery and it was a little hard to determine the emulsion side but after handling the film I find that it is not that difficult. It dried pretty flat.

Conclusion: At first I thought I will regret it as an impulse buy, but not any more! :p

Rated at 250 (as per LarryD's info). HC 110 B 5.5 min

Leica M6, Summicron M 50 mm f2

PS: my results are a little grainy, any suggestions to reduce grain?

You could try a MQ developer like D76, 1:1 for 10-11 minutes. The higher Sodium Sulphite content "softens" the grain a bit. HC 110 is a fairly harsh developer.
