Beer Barons at West Laurel Hill Cemetery
In October 2010 West Laurel Hill Cemetery sponsored their first "Beer Barons" event. Participants visited grave sites of some of the city's famous brewers. Pennsylvania Brewery Historian Rich Wagner spoke about the brewers, their breweries and the significance of Philadelphia's brewing industry throughout history. Local homebrewers supplied "Pre-Prohibition" style beers which were sampled at each grave site. After the tour, there was a catered affair with beer from Victory Brewing Company as well as a judging of the homebrews.
