Blue Peaks Lake, central highlands, Tasmania
One of the things I love is to be alone in a place where I can hear or see no evidence of human kind...no sound of engines, no voices. A 2.5 hour walk into the blue peaks lake brought me to such a place. Unsure what I'd find ( there is a faint trail only, and little descriptive info on this place), I came prepared for tent or bivvy. The alpine central plateau has a magic all it's own...from a ringing solitude, to the long-haired wallabies rock-hopping on the mountain slopes. This evening seemed magical after walking in the first truly sunny day for months...to a calm evening over still waters.
