Mayne Supreme

Or Supreme VI Express to be precise form the Mayne of Manchester fleet. This Tiger was just two years old when photographed in April 1984 and from the looks of the destination it has been employed on local stage carriage work which would have given the natives a bit of extra luxury with the 53 high backed seats fitted inside the Plaxton body.

Mayne now only operate coaches from a base in Manchester one in Warrington, the latter operation coming with the takeover of the Barry Cooper business some years ago. The stage carriage side of the business was sold to Stagecoach and the companies garage on Ashton New Road sold for redevelopment as part of the Manchester Metrolink extention.
