Crosville DOG129 PFM129Y

Crosville Leyland Olympian DOG129 stands at MPTEs Gartson garage when more or less new. What it was doing there is a mystery, though a likely reason would be the bus working a private hire to nearby Speke Hall and the driver taking advantage of the canteen facilities at gartson, these being the days prior to deregulation when everyone 'got on with each other'.

The bus was based at Crosvilles West Kirby garage on the Wirral and spent most of its Crosville life there, though did have a brief spell at Runcorn before returning accross the water.

After Crosville, she passed to North Western and worked out of Manchester in the Bee Line subsidiary, wearing the NW diagonal style livery in yellow and red. Arriva corporate was applied upon the aquasition of British Bus of which NW was a part and she was despatched to Warrington, later being aquired by that towns municipal fleet due to an increase of school work, ironically taken over from Arriva.

The bus survives to this day, now being operated by Alpine of Llandudno and registered HBA278Y.
