The Chilling Mine

    Newer Older

We turned up at Magpie mine near Sheldon in the Derbyshire peak district in a very chilly frosty morning hoping for a little colour in an industrial winter scene, we did get a fabulous pre sunrise glow before flurries of snow and the wind increasing the chill factor to a point where we called it a day..

Love the forbidding image, looks very cold and grim.

Disillusioned Railway Thank you Gary... the image doesn't do the feeling of chill justice.... not sure how I managed to press the shutter my fingers were numb and the fact I had to wipe snow off my filters every other second... great fun though

No need for colour - this renders beautifully in mono - a lovely piece of work indeed

Yes, it's great in black and white (with added white!). And you've got the contrast just right.
