Mining for Sustainable Development Programme (M4SD) Global Workshop
Excitement was in the air when the Mining for Sustainable Development Programme (M4SD) brought fifteen Transparency International national chapters and an expert reference group together in Port Dickson (Malaysia) for the latest global workshop. Participants were eager to discuss and compare findings from the programme’s Phase I: assessing corruption risks in mining approvals processes.

After short presentations outlining their countries’ key findings, participants worked together to identify emerging global themes and opportunities. These mappings will influence the rollout of Phase II, where action plans will be implemented to address the corruption risks brought to light in the first half of this year.

We want to thank all the chapters and members of our expert reference group who came from far and wide to dedicate time and energy to building a great programme!

Country research is currently being brought together to produce a global report (November 2017).
