Listening Session - Western Region - May 17, 2017
MEES is celebrating 40 years of promoting Environmental Education (EE) in Massachusetts!

With the anniversary comes an investigation into what kind of support MEES can provide to the EE community. To find out, the Board is holding five regional Listening Sessions, combined with a fun activity, to gain some insight into the Massachusetts EE community and how the organization can better serve its needs.

For the Western Region session at the Hitchcock Center attendees took a tour of the Center’s exciting Living Building Project, their newest “educator”! The building is designed to model systems in nature, it is net zero energy, net zero water, has composting toilets, and was built using responsibly sourced non-toxic materials.

Following the presentation, we asked attendees to tell us how we can better support them and their work. Topics of discussion included the MEES mission, how MEES communicates with the community, and additional programming MEES can provide.
