Spock in Ottawa, 1970

Dr. Spock came to speak in Ottawa. He was sponsored by the Unitarian Church, the Ottawa Committee for Peace and Liberation, the Ottawa Society of Friends (Quakers), the Chaplains' offices at Carleton and University of Ottawa and the Humanist Fellowship. Sylvia and Roy were very involved and accompanied him all over town, driving him to his appointments and to the airport. He had been arrested 2 years earlier and put on trial for conspiracy to counsel young Americans to avoid the draft, this conviction was later reversed.
