Andre, Marie and Sylvia

Andre Chantigny, son of a prospector/farmer, was born on an island in Lac Pemichangan. Marie was from the Indian reserve near Maniwaki. They had lived in a small log cabin at a secluded end of the lake for many years: fishing, hunting, tending a garden. They had a horse and cart to get certain supplies from the village. They couldn't read or write and they didn't speak much English. Sylvia and Roy became good friends. They laughed, played music, went fishing and explored the lake and woods together. Here they sit relaxing and joking around at the Sanders cottage when it was still under construction
