Shy Albatross

I love how albatrosses fly with one wing tip on the water a lot of the time, it's spectacularly controlled and always no more than a couple of cm in or out of the water.

This was my first introduction to ocean birds, I have to admit I wasn't the best student as there were so many other things competing for one's attention. But I can see the attraction, they are wonderful to watch and like anything, it becomes more interesting the more you know. About all I discovered was that we didn't see any Wandering Albatrosses, but we did see a Fulmar.
