Lenin - Soviet Nuclear Icebreaker
The Lenin (Ленин) nuclear-powered icebreaker was the world's first nuclear powered surface ship and civilian vessel. At full capacity the ship would use five to six pounds of Uranium 234 every 100 days. The Lenin was awared the Order of Lenin in 1974 and was officially decommissioned in 1989. The Lenin has been converted to a floating museum and can be visited in Murmansk.
