1200' Walls of the Boquillas Canyon (Black & White, Big Bend National Park)
While walking along the shores of the Rio Grande at this point in Big Bend National Park, it's hard not to have the senses taken in with this setting. All around are the very tall canyon walls. One can see layer after layer of rock going up the mountainside. Here and there are groves and patches of trees and other plant vegetation. One can feel a slight breeze blowing and hear the gentle noises of the river waters going by. Other times there's a stillness and quietness. For the image, I converted it to black & white using Silver Efex Pro 2 where I used some color filters to bring out a much richer tonal contrast for the final image.
The other side of the Rio Grande is Mexico...and needs no wall!
