Santa Elena Canyon and the Sierra Ponce Cliffs... (Big Bend National Park)
and a Whole Lot of Beautiful Mountain Peaks. During my first visit to Big Bend National Park when I stood atop Emory Peak and looked all around at the settings in this national park, I really didn't have much of a feel for the landscape, mountain peaks and different named features as I looked around. On this trip as I stood and walked along the South Rim, I definitely could picture and point out the more prominent features. Far off in the distance is the Santa Elena Canyon and the Sierra Ponce Cliffs. In between are many other peaks like Cerro Castellan, Goat Mountain, and Burro Mesa, including a little bit of the South Rim mountainside as I walked around.
