A Changing Landscape Seen While Hiking in Capitol Reef National Park
A look to the northwest while hiking up some switchbacks on the Chimney Rock Loop. By waiting until a later time in the afternoon hours to begin this hike, I found colors and variations of hues much more easily captured. The shadows cast brought out relief across the terrain and landscape not easily seen earlier with the sunlight shining directly overhead. To bring out more of the feel with the heights of the Waterpocket Fold with its towering cliff walls, I angled my SLR camera slightly downward. The view would then be from near to far with a sweeping look across this part of the national park.
