This a piece I'm finishing for a fund raiser, for the Red River Women's Clinic. The hexagons are English paper pieced, the hand appliqued, and hand quilted onto the machine pieced and quilted background. the little hexagons are made from a number of fabrics that have special meaning to women's issues. The green because women still don't receive equal pay, the Asian characters in honor of chinese girl babies, the stones are a memorial to the little muslim girl who was raped, then as her punishment, buried in the sand to her neck and stoned to death. You are free to add your own as you see them.
