If the whole Greenland ice sheet — that covers most of this not-green island — were to melt, sea level would rise more than 20 feet, inundating coastal cities around the world. In a warming climate, how long will the ice last? Research by UVM professor Paul Bierman and his graduate student Alice Nelson aims to give the world a clearer answer.
