Thumb Butte Quilters' Current Display of Quilts

It's time to FALL for FALL! Don't you just love the FALL season here in our Prescott area?! We hope you will FALL in love with this collection of FALL quilts. They are not necessarily all FALL quilts, but they are FALL colors! As always, we hope these quilts will bring a smile to your heart!

The quilts now hanging in the Atrium of the Rowle P. Simmons Community Center are as follows, (standing at the Reception Desk, looking South out the front door, beginning with the first small quilt to the right, in the southwest corner, and going around the room clockwise):

(small quilt location—southwest corner):

Carol Wright, quilt maker. “Turning Over a New Leaf”. Carol made this quilt in response to Anne Abrams' President's Challenge to 'try something new'.

(Large Quilts on West Wall):

Betty Foley, quilt maker. “Indian Summer”. Truly a Betty Foley style quilt—kaleidoscope blocks! This one has yo-yo's in the cornerstones.

Maggie Keller, quilt maker. “Leafing, No Doubt”. This quilt was made to celebrate the Fall season in Northern Arizona after living in the desert for 30 years.

Kathy Beeson, quilt maker. “Dutchman's Puzzle”. 32 blocks made for Kathy and by Kathy for her November birthday two years in a row! Happy Birthday, Kathy!

(small quilt location—northwest corner):

Shirley Kelliher, quilt maker. “Beautiful Blooming Friendships”. Blocks were hand appliqued by quilters in the mini-group “Appliquettes”. Quilt was machine quilted by Maggie Keller.

(small quilt location—northeast corner):

Kathleen Bond, quilt maker. “Was That A Berry?” The center applique is a Jan Patek pattern, Kathleen then added rows to create a Medallion Quilt. All fabrics are by Kaffe Fassett. This quilt is the first one Kathleen quilted on her long-arm machine.

(Large Quilts on the East Wall):

Shirlee Smith, quilt maker. “Chain Gang”. Traditional Double Irish Chain pattern combined with a horny toad applique design. Machine pieced and hand quilted by Shirlee.

Sandy Mitchell, quilt maker. “Maple Leaf, Pattern on Pattern”. Do you see the pattern on pattern? Machine pieced and machine quilted by Sandy, 2007.

Carolyn Edwards, quilt owner. 'Great Aunt Eldora's Quilt”. Quilt top was hand pieced by Eldora Freeman Milburn in 1890. Hand quilted by Thumb Butte Quilters' Sharlot Hall quilters in 2010.

(small quilt location—southeast corner):
