A filling for pseudo-baklava
I usually just use walnuts, crushed into small bits with a rolling pin, and then after the baklava cools I cover it with syrup made from sugar, brown sugar, and boiling water.
However, I didn't think that method would work for these triangles, and I was lazy. I mixed nuts, honey, water, and a wee bit of backstrap molasses and spooned it in.
The result was less messy, much drier, good, but not baklava.
