Wisconsin Idea Seminar 2018: BIG LAKE TOUR
The Wisconsin Idea Seminar is a five-day study tour of Wisconsin that offers UW-Madison faculty and staff the opportunity to learn firsthand about the social and cultural contexts that shape the lives of many of our Wisconsin students and to see what the Wisconsin Idea looks like in practice. Of particular interest are partnerships that are rooted in local communities and shaped by local priorities.

The 2018 Seminar included stops at the Mystic Valley Dairy; Coloma Farms; Hancock Agricultural Research Station; University of Wisconsin-Marathon County; Abbotsford School District; Red Cliff Indian Reservation; the Kakagon Sloughs on the Bad River Indian Reservation; Northern Great Lakes Visitors’ Center; Houghton Falls Nature Preserve; Fox Lake Correctional Institution; United Community Center; Aurora Sinai Medical Center.
