It looks more like spring than autumn in my back yard

    Newer Older

I always look forward to the blooms from this beautiful Hibiscus mutabilis (commonly called Confederate Rose) -- it looks like cotton candy. Each of these delicious looking confections lasts just one day but it appears that the bush is loaded with buds. In three years this has grown from a spindly three-foot tall plant to a tree (which is still kind of spindly, in all honesty -- in spite of my best pruning efforts). I love the combination of the cotton candy blooms with the pink Knock Out roses and the white 'Iceberg' roses.

it's looking wonderful . . . hope all is well with you, Patricia, and that you are taking things slowly and gently - and gardens are just great for being in the here and now, aren't they?

You've created a lovely soft palette in both your garden and composition...painting with pixels and plants! I would be over the moon if I could grow that luscious hibiscus in my garden!

This is just so pretty, and it does look like cotton candy. It must be a real treat to be able to look out on this each day.

Cotton candy, what a great description Patricia! It certainly looks like a confection doesn't it. I love this photo, love the distant view of your garden and the angle at which it is displayed.
