Looks like autumn . . .

    Newer Older

I'm not a tidy gardener -- I like that feeling of autumn abundance with the blousy, ultra-ripe blooms of volunteer plants and super-tough perennials like the lantana. The big tropical hibiscus bushes also like the autumn weather and there are usually quite a few bright red pops of color from those bushes (but not in this photo).

My garden has been ignored and neglected for the past three months. I watered it just enough to keep it alive but it had absolutely no loving care from me this year. I'm happy to have so many happy blossoms even if they are somewhat unkempt.

This is just beautiful! I love the 'untidy' gardens the best. They are the 'homiest'!

It's so nice to see you again! Your garden is beautiful! It looks like it has thrived even though you haven't been able to tend to it as much. I think that comes from a good plan and letting things grow where they want to grow.

These are lovely, Patricia - and they merge those special days of summer-into-autumn to perfection!

How lovely to compare this with the previous June posting. It looks lovely and the colours so vibrant. My garden is far from tidy either, with all the rain I haven't done much this year.

Some seasons are like that. Then we really appreciate the hardy, adaptive plants that continue on, to cheer us through it all. This summer has been that way for me, but the butterflies still manage to find the flowers and bring even more joy.
I love your bright blooms! Do the lantana's overwinter for you? I only know 2 varieties that are truly hardy here in zone 7. Hugs to you Patricia.

What a pity that you have abandoned your garden during the last three months:I imagine that you have been not so well,in your soul, but now this bad time seems over, and you came back to be the Patricia who we all know and love.Huuugs!

It feels a little like a homecoming to see those familiar stones steps and your beautiful profusion of blossoms again. Welcome back from one more Flickr friend who has missed you!

Your neglected garden looks much better than our tended one!

Very pretty Patricia....interesting too all the yellow (which being my favorite color and all). I have to be careful not to end up with too much yellow in The Flower King's garden as there seem to be so many different kinds of flowers that are yellow!
