Such a pretty vignette, and so encouraging to wildlife! I'm coming around to understanding that provided I ensure that I freshen the water every few days, there's no West Nile virus issue at all. Why haven't I done this yet??

Thank you, Deborah & Stefan. I've had everything from birds to squirrels to raccoons here.

A pretty little spot. I like the bird bath especially with the reflections. I find I get a problem with midges anywhere where I keep water though a tip last year of putting a touch of cooking oil in the top has been useful. I'm rarely able to go out and about so spend much of my time in gardening gear which reduces the problem of lily pollen. Now and again I find myself with a blond tuft of hair where I've bent down over the lilies. It's quite a job to get out though it lools ok. LOL.
