Hebden autumn

The river Hebden in mellow mood. Today there are dreadful floods in my home town. Sympathy to all those affected.

Nice shot Terry, know the spot well. Nice reminder of what sunlight looks like!
Yes I heard Hebden not good today, nor Mytholmroyd.
Weather seems to swing from one extreme to another all summer these days.

Very nice Terry, I hope you have managed to avoid the worst ... and as you say, sympathy to those who haven't.

The Better Part of Hardcastle Craggs is above Gibson Mill and so Rarely seen by the usual Visitor's to the Area.
= As for the Flooding along the Calder Valley = Here in Luddenden Dene we are not affected = However from Mytholmroyd all the way through to Todmorden the Floods seem far worse than I can ever remember.
= This Morning ALL the First Bus Company's Transport through the Calder Valley was only running as far as Luddendenfoot !!!
= However now the Sun is shining with the odd extreemly heavy downpour and as the Buses are no longer turning around at Luddendenfoot I assume that they are now running through to Todmorden if the A646 which was closed has been reopened ??? !!!
= Millions have been spent on flood prevention - management - and mainatinace of same - But it looks like on rare occassions Nature will test us humans to the limit and still Win !!!
= Hebden Bridge - Mytholmroyd - and all of the other numerous places along the floor of the Calder Valley which have been affected will recover as they always have done in the past - and all can be thankful that to the best of My Knowledge no lives have been lost.

What fantastic light Terry, and the colours are beautiful and it's nicely framed.

    Well captured.

What crazy weather we are having. My heart goes out to all affected by the floods. Fire and water are equally destructive to house and home.

I have a friend who lives in Tod who luckily lives slightly up the hill. Theres nothing worse than flood damage, just ask the people of Carlisle a few years ago. You've captured a very pleasant scene here.

Dalesman...lets hope the HB residents bounce back again. It was a regular event when I was a kid growing up here.

Stunningly beautiful. Is there no end to the flood weather. Sussex has been affected too, an event much more rare than in the North and West of England. Please, jet stream - SHIFT!!
