The Great Wall of Humanity: World Walls Mural No. 1 (Limited Edition of 3)

This museum-size mural stands 54 ft. x 24 ft. It is composed of 54 luminous clear plexiglass photographic images, set side by side, each with a thickness of 1/8”, and mounted on White Sintra Backer. Each image was originally printed from a 35mm transparency. Lit by proscenium lighting, they are displayed as epic tapestries, mounted on invisible aluminum scaffolding.

The Great Wall is meant to illuminate the ideal of a wholly integrated humankind, and one bound by humane solidarity. This comes at a time when contrary global social and political forces appear to be conspiring across continents to rip apart this profoundly important evolutionary objective, even as it has begun to be realized in a new era of globalization... This is a wall that cries out for more unity, not less; it is meant to bind together, rather than separate, the human family.

As a note, the foreground image of the observer is meant to demonstrate scale only and is not actually a part of the Great Wall of Humanity statement. However, because the mural will be displayed in a darkened museum room to create maximum visual vibrancy, viewers standing in the gallery before the epic wall will serve to integrate themselves into the World Walls worldscape. Thus, they will be adding themselves to the Great Wall of Humanity, and symbolically, at least, to the expansion of the human family.

To fully appreciate the impact of these images as they will be displayed, kindly zoom into the mural to get a true sense of how these large-scale images will impact the viewer's experience.
