Lorax Tattoo

    Newer Older

I got this tattoo 9/14/07 on my upper right arm. "I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees! "
" Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing's going to get better, it's not."

omg this is fantastic. my favourite book EVER. i have been trawling thru flickr looking at ink planning what i'm going to get and was just reading the lorax to my son yesterday and thought 'i want a sneed!'

I think the guy who did my Lorax (Paul Roe in DC) said he had also done a Cat in the Hat and a star-bellied sneetch. He really loved the illustration style of Dr. Seuss and had a lot of fun working with me to come up with a piece of art not in the book but in the same spirit.

Well, it took about 2 hours, and it didn't hurt as much as I expected but it certainly wasn't pleasant. ;)

Seriously? Save your tattoo money and plant some trees.

It's a bit late now to save the money, but I do donate a decent chunk of my income to conservation and work full-time for a conservation organization. This wasn't that expensive, and whenever I'm feeling frustrated about working a tough job for low pay I find it to be a helpful reminder of why I got into conservation in the first place.

Sorry for passing any kind of judgement. You clearly walk the walk and do not just talk the talk. Kudos to you. The Lorax would be proud.
      Keep up the fight!
