Madame La Pompadour.....

for the Hoffman Fabric Challenge...

She received "Honorable Mention" in Doll Category

Fabric doll...sculpted cloth face with lightly tea dyed spandex type fabric over to completely mask the center seam. Facial features are done with watercolour pencils.

Wig is a separate entity ... glued onto her head after securing the facial fabric... more photos below showing how the wig was made...

Lightly tea dyed spandex fabric "sweater" ..(a size smaller) pulled on over regular stuffed torso with conical overstuffed breasts. Small wisps of stuffing judiciously inserted to smooth out any transition lines it the lovely, smooth, voluptuous look it needs to pull off the low cut neckline of her gown.

Her dress is made with 2 Hoffman Fabrics.. showcasing the main fabric in the front panel of her gown. Bows and ruffle on lower portion of her gown are opposite sides of a lovely chartreuse silky fabric that was an absolute steal at $4 for two full meters! They began as little tubes of varying sizes and I worked them into bows...then stitched the gold thread around them before attaching to the bodice.
