Year 4 Trip to Fishbourne Roman Palace
This week, Year 4 visited Fishbourne Roman Palace to launch our new history topic. A great day was had by all! We visited the museum, learnt all about how the palace was discovered, built our own Roman bridge, wrote our names in Roman letters and dressed up as Roman Princes and Princesses. We even got to meet a Roman soldier, who answered our many questions! We had a go at making our own mosaics, found out what it was like to work in a Roman kitchen as slaves and ground flour to make bread. Inside, it was incredible to see all the mosaics so well preserved after 2,000 years. We are looking forward to learning more about the Romans in the coming weeks!
